Effective July 1, 2007, POST Instructor certificates expire in five years unless the instructor attends a refresher class. This class meets the POST requirement, providing the instructor with a legal update on training liability and a review of adult learning methods, training and evaluation techniques in an interactive environment.
Training should be performance-based and must integrate problem-solving to fully prepare the student for competence performance on the job. This class gives you the tools to realign your training methods with those goals.
Classes are presented at no cost several times each year throughout the state. Registration is open but preference will be given to instructors from the host region.
Pre-requisite: 40-hour POST Basic Instructional Methodology class, a.k.a. Train the Trainer, Introduction to Instruction, etc. Proof of previous instructor certification must be provided prior to class.
Class size is limited to 15 participants.
8-hour CLEAT/POST course Class starts at 8:00 am
The class is funded through a grant to CLEAT (a partnership of CSOC and CACP) from Colorado POST. Although it is free to individual students, CLEAT has committed a substantial amount of the grant to bring the class to your area. If you cannot attend, please use the disenroll link on your confirmation email to withdraw at least 5 business days before the first day of class. Failure to show for the class will result in a $200.00 charge payable to Colorado POST.
