Strategies for the Effective Supervisor

Participants learn how to apply the concepts of supervisory effectiveness in everyday work situations. It is appropriate for potential or new supervisors, supervisors who want to strengthen their skills and those who want to refresh their perspectives. Through interactive class activities and the development of a practical workbook, participants learn:

  • The fundamentals of supervisory effectiveness.
  • How to apply the elements of supervision in routine and challenging situations.
  • How to gain and use positive influence.
  • How to transition to the supervisory role.
  • How to communicate effectively, with all levels of the organization.

Participants leave with a plan of action for increasing their effectiveness and the effectiveness of those with whom they work, and will have a better understanding of their roles within the organization and chain of command. This class is exclusively presented by Tina Rowe, Retired Denver Police Captain.
