Non-Sworn Supervisor Effectiveness
This two day course will help participants develop skills they need to be effective, active supervisors, leaders who make a positive difference in administrative, clerical, technical and other assignments involving non-sworn and civilian employees. Participants will be introduced to leadership skills that can be applied to the real world of criminal justice work. Course discussions will include solutions for solving assignment-specific problems, strategies for supervising challenging employees, when to intervene as a supervisor, and personal and professional development. The focus of this class is to help each participant develop a personal plan for effectiveness as a supervisor. Each class member will receive a detailed workbook and will participate in group work that will allow them to solidify and personalize their learning.
