Subconscious Communication: Interviewing and Interrogation is designed for Criminal Justice/Investigation professionals who want to discover how the concept of subconscious communication can assist in the gathering and evaluation of information and conquer barriers to truthfulness.

In this 24-hour class, you will learn to:
  • Successfully gather information and evaluate the accuracy of data collected
  • Recognize non-verbal communication and the role it plays in the communication process
  • Comprehend key verbal words or phrases that assist in determining deception in individuals
  • Utilize conscious and subconscious rapport building to create either a positive or negative environment
  • Formulate questions and use specific question types so that maximum information might be gained from each response
  • Manipulate proxemics for utmost benefits
  • How to use your posture and communication style for maximum results
  • Create themes and statements to overcome denials and defenses in the information gathering process
  • Understand legal issues regarding interviewing and interrogation

The class is instructed by Retired Chief of Police S. A. Rhoads and Detective Cliff Porter. Chief Rhoads is an internationally recognized expert in the field of Subconscious Communication with 30 years of law enforcement experience in Virginia, Colorado and Illinois. He has instructed for the past 29 years, has published several articles on the subject and has assisted several agencies in the interrogation of suspects in major felony cases.

Detective Cliff Porter is the senior homicide investigator the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. He has been involved in cases gaining national attention which include the Shadow Man and the Wedding Dress Rapist and maintains a successful confession rate of over 90%. Detective Porter also serves as the senior truth verification examiner for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. He currently teaches Interview and Interrogation, Major Crimes Investigations, and Subconscious Communications for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Pikes Peak Community College, the Central Mountain Training Association, the Regional Counter-Drug Training Association, and the International Training Academy on Linguistics and Kinesics. Detective Porter’s interviews have been featured by Granada Productions in the upcoming Biography Channel exclusive, “The Interrogators.” He has been a key note speaker throughout the United States on the topic of interview and interrogation with his talks being attended by corporate leaders, United States Attorney’s, members of the United States military, and law enforcement.
